The PLRA Information Technology (I.T) department plays a crucial role by managing and leveraging technology to support the organization's goals and objectives. Central Land Records Management and Information System (CLRMIS) the core business application of PLRA which facilitates delivery of Land Record Services to general public. Here are some key responsibilities and functions of an I.T department:
Infrastructure Management: I.T department is responsible for managing and maintaining the PLRA technology infrastructure, including servers, networks, databases, and hardware. They ensure that systems are operational, secure, and properly functioning.
Software and Application Management: I.T department oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of software applications (CLRMIS, e-Registration, Digital Gardawari, Punjab Zameen Mobile App, BOR Monitor, Web Portal etc.) used. They manage software licenses, upgrades, patches, and ensure that applications meet the PLRA organization needs.
Database Management: I.T departments handle data management activities, including data storage, backup, and recovery. They ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with relevant regulations such as data protection laws.
Cybersecurity: I.T departments are responsible for protecting the organization's data and systems from unauthorized access, breaches, and cyber threats. They implement security measures, conduct risk assessments, monitor for vulnerabilities, and respond to security incidents.
